Big news, friends: we're up and moving to San Francisco! My husband just started a new job there at an awesome tech company, so we're selling the house in Colorado (attempting to, at least) and heading west.
This is a huge deal for our family, and an exciting change for me as far as in-person quilting and crafting communities go. The quilt guilds where I live now haven't captured my heart and challenged me to creativity too terribly much, but I am rarin' to check out the new Bay Area Modern Quilt Guild! This group just formed and I can't wait to attend the first meeting in February. I'm also already super excited to attend this year's Maker Faire, which is only a few months away and is held just south of San Francisco. Wahoo!
Do you have any suggestions for fabric, quilting or crafting stores in the Bay Area I need to visit? Or any fun crafty events to put on my calendar? I'm really looking forward to exploring and getting to know the great community of creators and crafters and quilters in my new hometown. Thanks in advance for the tips!

I loved Thimble Creek when I lived in Pleasanton.
